About Us

About us

More Than a Church. A Family.

For more than 40 years, Maranatha Family Worship Center has served Tacoma and the surrounding communities with steady faith and open doors. We are a church built on relationships, committed to strengthening families and guiding individuals toward a deeper walk with Christ.

Our congregation includes lifelong believers, new seekers and military families from nearby communities. Through consistent teaching, prayer and outreach, we help people grow spiritually and personally. We believe church should feel like home.

Every service, ministry and gathering reflects our commitment to unity, compassion and lasting spiritual growth rooted in biblical truth.

OUR VALUES

What Guides Us. What Grounds Us.

Our values are not just words on a wall. They are the heartbeat of everything we do. They shape how we love, how we serve, and how we treat one another. At Maranatha, these principles guide us as we walk this journey of faith together, side by side.

Mission

To lead souls to Jesus, build strong families, and serve our community with love, humility, and the uncompromising truth of God's Word.

Goal

To see every person who walks through our doors find belonging, discover their purpose, and grow into who God created them to be.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our Statement of Faith

At Maranatha, our beliefs shape everything we do. We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, providing guidance for life and salvation. We believe in one God eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe salvation comes through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ and water baptism. We believe in the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit and the sanctifying work that enables believers to live holy lives. We hold to the Blessed Hope of Christ’s return and trust in the healing and redemptive power found through prayer and faith.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is God inspired, authoritative and the foundation for doctrine, direction and daily living.

Salvation Through Christ

We believe redemption comes through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, water baptism and spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

Power of the Spirit

We believe in the baptism and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, empowering believers to live holy lives.

What We Believe

Generosity That Changes Lives

When you give to Maranatha, you are doing more than making a donation. You are planting seeds of hope right here in our own community. Your faithful generosity powers our after-school tutoring program, where students find help and hope. It fuels our outreach ministries, providing food and resources to families in need. It keeps our doors open and our worship center welcoming. Every gift, no matter the size, goes directly toward building families, serving Tacoma, and spreading the love of Jesus. Thank you for partnering with us.
